Commissioned by W. E. Jarrett. On a 3" x 5½" #5 envelope; the small size Adam Bert FDC. Bert's address

is on the back. Jarrett's uncacheted FDC was sent to Knapp who, in turn, painted it and returned it to

Jarrett. This Jarrett-Bert-Knapp cover is one-of-a-kind. It is not known if the design itself was used on

other covers. Also see 50FD-72C.5, the Boy Scout counterpart, in the 1950s decade.

Dorothy Knapp hand painted cachet prices

Dorothy Knapp covers are currently the most highly prized of all hand painted US FDCs.

Her Scout covers, in turn, are valued some 5 times higher than her other FDCs and are in

a class by themselves. Listed prices for these 2 covers are intended to be the actual current

market values. Also see 50FD-72 series in the 1950s decade.

Autograph

Edith D. Johnson was the first Chief Executive Officer of the Girl Scouts, 06/01/1913 - 06/01/1914.

The first three were called "National Secretary", followed by "National Executive Director" and today, CEO.

The addressee, Frank Brygi, probably sent Johnson the FDC, along with a letter requesting her autograph.

Johnson also returned a short thank you note on the filler.

See it in "Non-Cachet US Scout Covers",   L. Letters & Mailings.
