All known copies of this cachet, as well as 44-0.1 are thermographed. (See page 229 of the Print Catalog for printing method definitions). This cachet is unique in that it is the only one thermographed where the ink was applied with a rubber stamp. There are 6 small dots to the right of the badge on all examples. The unmailed cachets were prepared by one person and then made available for general use.

Commissioned by W. E. Jarrett. On a 3" x 5½" #5 envelope; the small size Adam Bert FDC. Bert's address is on the back. Jarrett's uncacheted FDC was sent to Knapp who, in turn, painted it and returned it to Jarrett. This Jarrett-Bert-Knapp cover is one-of-a-kind. It is not known if the design itself was used on other covers.

Edith D. Johnson was the first Chief Executive Officer of the Girl Scouts, 06/01/1913 - 06/01/1914.


The first three were called "National Secretary", followed by "National Executive Director" and today, CEO.


The addressee, Frank Brygi, probably sent Johnson the FDC, along with a letter requesting her autograph. Johnson
